| Due to a misunderstanding, Pÿlon was announced to open for Syrach and Tribes of Caïn at Rock-City Uster this Saturday. Pÿlon, however, will and could not possibly play without a drummer in its ranks. The very promising billing of the night is as follows: Taste of Tears (CH), Tribes of Caïn (CH), Syrach (N) On the other hand, it might be that we're at Rock-City in order to enjoy the concert in the audience. | |
| Under the name of Stream Of Consciousness, the musicians of Taste of Tears have recently released their debut album. More information on this release here . | Stream Of Consciousness: Journey Through A World Of Thoughts (Prog Metal, Rock) |

| By the way: We are hard at work on our forthcoming album, Doom, which we aim to release around the end of the year. We shall record one more song, the others are finished. |

Back To Rock Festival |
| Matt & Jan took their CD booth to the Back To Rock festival site. It was great! Very well organised, kind people, highly interesting bands (discovered for you: Nihilo !) and a thoroughly serene and homely mood even despite the constant downpour on Saturday! Thankyouverymuch, BTR/Bluesrockers team - once more, you've done an amazing job this year ... bring on BTR 2009! (Upcoming: the True As Steel festival at Gaswerk, Winterthur on Oct 11, 2008.) |

| Here's Pÿlon having some time off: as a tip of the hat to effective, simple, slick song-writing skills, we recorded "Warmachine". This was the opening track on Unleashed's 1997 Warrior album. Have a listen, have fun and then do the right thing by getting the original! So, for your enjoyment (and for ours), here's Warmachine . Matt: guitar Jan: bass, vocals (featuring the hits and misses of a first take) Tinu: drums mastered to great (sound) effect at Digital World, Rotkreuz. This was recorded a little while ago during downtime and is not scheduled for any CD release at the moment. - Feel free to let us know if you plan to release an Unleashed tribute album, though, he he! |

| Now, this is something else: Pÿlon are featured on a free magazine CD - and with a track recorded exclusively for this occasion, too! It's called Great Unfathomed Caverns and has a special story in that it is a track recorded without a drummer, but still not with programmed drums: remember that we did a cover of Warmachine by Unleashed? - Well, Matt went in, slashed Tinu's drum tracks apart, put them together anew and wrote some crunchy new riffs. Furthermore, these are the first stream of consciousness lyrics Pÿlon has used - together with Matt's distorted voice, the whole thing is quite some art brut ... except for the overly sweet keyboards, of course. Great Unfathomed Caverns will not be out on any Pÿlon CD, so in order to "collect 'em all", you'll have to look into getting the German Underground Crossection mag, issue 24! It's available at the German Underground Crossection website and in the Swiss Metal Mailorder at Quam Libet Records - in buying it here, you're supporting Pÿlon directly. |

| We are very grateful to Rüdiger and the G.U.C. team for their great work, viz. for their friendly correspondence, for delivering the goods perfectly on time ... and for making the whole shebang rawk like hell! The German Underground Crossection magazine #24 covers bands such as Anael, Blood, Crunch Head Club, Fall Of Serenity, Hatespawn, Manos, Mathyr, Gumo Maniacs, Sequester, Skew Siskin, Artless, Intoxicum, it delivers festival reviews and has such features as "Heavy Metal ist draußen", "Panoptikum des Grauens Part X" and more. |

| The US have been pÿlonised. Almost, at least. Read the sad and lamentable tale here: | |

| And we already feared we were left out. But the big, fat Skater Rock 3CD boxes have arrived from the US. Skater Rock 1/2/3 is the latest compilation featuring Pÿlon; this compilation was started so long ago that they still used Anaconda off Th’ Eternal Wedding Band which rocks so well. On one hand, it was very nice of Jake / Versailles Records to let us be part of the show, on the other hand, however, we are utterly disappointed about the long and chaotic genesis of this project and about the fact that our name is mis-spelt on the back cover. Well, let’s not dwell on past mishaps, but rather focus on new ones: an album by yours truly is in the making … as well as two further compilations. These will contain newly-recorded and exclusive material. Still, Skater Rock 1/2/3 rocks extremely well for 3 ¾ hours straight with highly interesting bands primarily from the US, but there are also Boarders, Secondhand Child, 784itch and Pure Inc. next to some star-studded projects, featuring Vinnie Appice, Robert Rowanson and Phil Varone. Here’s the track list and here’s where to buy it (scroll all the way down, that’s what everybody does first anyway). |
Just a quickie with lots of numbers:
Four tracks for the album are finished and two more will receive intensive treatment now, including a guest guitar solo. There are two covers which might be used as well. Then work on another three tracks will start which ought to suffice in order to top DOOM up fittingly.
Dear corpses and carcases out there in doomland,
Thank you for continuously dropping by this page or the myspace site even though nothing much appears to be happening!
You're not completely wrong, I must say, as Pÿlon are keeping low at the moment. Matt has beautifully refurbished the rehearsal/recording room in the past two months, Marc is facing surgery of his mighty shoulders and Jan has had the pleasure to rip it up with another band for a few intense dates lately.
On a recording level, we have completed some exclusive tracks for some three or four forthcoming compilations and a few new tracks for the album are ready as well. Sure, it would be nice to put a "2008" stamp on the forthcoming album, DOOM, but let's see what good time brings. In any case, it's hard to wait with completed songs ready and not uploading them here or there. But then again, an album's worth of truly new tunes is something neat to look forward to as well, isn't it?
