We are currently mixing the song Great Unfathomed Caverns to be used exclusively on a forthcoming German magazine compilation.
The QLR part of our personalities is entirely focused on HEAVY METAL NATION IV which is now available from Quam Libet Records .
You can now read the diary entry on our appearance at the Dawn of Doom festival here .
As every year, sounds2move.de have prepared 24 treats as a count-down up to Christmas. View the s2m calendar here .

Just one more time going to sleep before the Dawn Of Doom festival!
Please join us in welcoming our new pearl on drums: Marc!

More Pÿlon visuals here
We wish to apologise for the down-time of our server in the past few days. - The fact that you can read this (again) shows that you haven't given up on us. Thank you!
In even more happier use, we are proud to announce that we are now rehearsing with a real drummer, made of flesh and blood (Angelo Sasso had a previous commitment), for the Dawn of Doom Festival.
Please help us to welcome Marc Ricci, a full-time member of the instrumental doom band Norah. For Norah's live dates, see Gigs .
Isn’t this excruciating? – Here are Pÿlon, countless new songs, riffs, concepts and pieces of artwork ready, but things are going so doomfully slowly?
Indeed, they are. But then again, Matt and Jan only join up two hours out of every week to work together in one (rehearsal) room … and what is to be done there, justifying the fact that we dare to call Pÿlon our main focus of action?
Right now, for example, one track entitled Renovatio has been pre-mastered at Digital World, Rotkreuz. – And even more mighty it has become! Ten minutes of pounding drums, throbbing basses, demented rhythm guitars and wailing chants! Only the guitar solo by an amazing player as heard on one of the HEAVY METAL NATION CDs remains to be added.
We’ve also taped Warmachine by Unleashed – those of you who had attended our last two shows with Tinu might remember our take on the track – complete with the original lyrics and another version of romantic sillitude.
In the next few weeks, we aim to lay down the backing tracks on another three tunes before looking to the left and to the right again. We’d love to treat you to some silly new material soon, but it looks like this may take another few months yet.
DOOM comes to those who wait.
Pÿlon & QLR are featured in the first e-pisode of The Hard Way, a brand-spankin'-new Swiss / German metal show.
Watch The Hard Way 1: The Doomed Side of Life here !
Looks like a concert in November is climbing over the horizon line ....
No, we do not have a new drummer. But does that mean that Pÿlon are defunct? Deadish? Hibernating? - Not by a long shot, darlings: Martin stopped by another time to record a song or two with us. Hence, four songs are nearly ready for mastering.
And a thousand wacky ideas arise what to put onto a third album to be entitled Doom. - Keep 'em open!
By the way: do feel free to download Th' Eternal Wedding Band here: PayPlay .
Occasionally, drummers come to spend a neat evening with us, but our knight in shining armour wasn't among them yet, sadly: either they came in just once from the other end of the country or they don't quite have the routine of playing in bands yet.
Tinu had recorded two drum tracks and Martin of Legenda Aurea came in to jam once. We pushed and pulled him a bit (clean thoughts, please!) and we edited the result to a fine ten-minute track. "Mmh, good!"
Other than that, sparks are flying: Matt keeps writing songs, Jan dashes out lyrics and the occasional ditty and the artwork for DOOM is just about in place.
Jan (and Sime of Eluveitie ) were invited to join Boarders on stage at the Elements Of Rock to celebrate their album release of The World Hates Me. - That was one Symphony Of Destruction ...!
| | Pictures by Denise Rankwiler |
By the way, we are still alive. A-studio, if you must: a first few tracks of acoustic guitar and sweet voices have been laid down by Matt and Jan while Svengineer got a baby. (Well, you know ….)
Tinu will come in this week to record the drum tracks to In The Shade and Unleashed's Warmachine, two tracks we had already played at the last two gigs in Zürich and in Uster .
At the album release by Boarders from Italy in the context of the Elements of Rock festival, Jan is scheduled to get up on stage with them and play Megadave’s Symphony Of Destruction.
That was fun: last night, Jan stood in for bass player Päsci who'd undergone surgery. With Hellvetica, the soundDock14 was soundly rocked and warmed up for Eluveitie.

Whoop-de-doo!
T-shirt’s here: one for me, one for yoo!
The wait has truly been worth it and the shirt is available at the Swiss Metal Mailorder for CHF 20.- / EUR 18 in the sizes M and L.

The cover of our new album Th’ Eternal Wedding Band has found its way onto a fine piece of clothing everyone ought to have ready in their cupboards for important events such as
- going to work
- going to school
- going for a drink
- seducing the best of the opposite sex
- three months later at the wedding, of course
or simply
- when getting ready for a concert.
For example the last Pÿlon concert with Tinu on drums and vocals.
Speaking of this, there are great news: Tribes of Caïn will provide deadly support for the Swiss-Norwegian Doom Night with Syrach (NOR) on 27.03.07 at Rock-City.ch !

This is an excellent opportunity for people in the Zurich area to see Tribes for the first time in half a year. And who knows: perhaps they’ll play some tunes from their forthcoming album for the first time ever?
With Pÿlon, we will do what we like best: enjoying ourselves together with you and some guest musicians on a few songs. In fact, you might enjoy that, too!
And Norwegian doomsters Syrach? – Hell, they will be touring Europe with their brand new album, out on March 09. This is a now-or-never thing because they will doom up Switzerland one night only – at Rock-City!
We truly hope to see and clothe you there!

We survived a night of doom/death/mayhem, failing microphones and many splendid chats with wonderful people.
'Thank you' if you were at the werk21 or if you have been with us in the mind.
And thank you to Excruciation. - Never before were we as rocked by you as we were yesternight!

What a year - and we even accomplished our goals as outlined last January:
- Our new album, Th' Eternal Wedding Band, was released in September and is available in mailorders and shops the world over. Very kind, very strange and supportive reviews have been written by people we don't even know personally.
- Our split CD-EP with Painwork, The End Of Pain / Days Of Sorrow, was released in March. One or two of these rarities might still be available.
- Two international compilations, Nighthawk Compilation I (Micro-Phonics, Germany) and Heavy rendez vous Vol.II (NLM, Italy), featuring a Pÿlon track each, were released in January and in February, respectively.
- We even played a concert at Aarau's w3nk. And that was after two and a half years without any live shows!
Unfortunately, this satisfactory feeling we enjoy at this time has its downside as well:
Tinu (d, v) feels that this is the ideal time to leave Pÿlon in order to be able to spend more time with his young family.
Matt and Jan are very sorry that this decision was taken. On the other hand, we decided to have the best time possible while we still play together and the three of us wish to end this line-up with our densest concert plan ever: with TWO concerts in early 2007!
So come and party with us at the Excruciation album release show, which, incidentally, will be our first show since TEWB was released:
13.01.07 - Dynamo / werk21 , Zürich
w/ Cerperus, shEver, Forgotten Chaos, Mirko Massaker, Excruciation
If you enjoy that and would like the very last of 'Matt-Tinu-Jan' Pÿlon, join us and Norwegian doomsters, Syrach:
27.03.07 - Rock-City , Uster (ZH) w/ Syrach
We would be honoured if you were to show up in Zürich and in Uster in order to rock away these two nights with us!
Well, and then we'll be looking for a drummer. Can you help us find him?

The HONOUR! We are invited to open for Excruciation on the night of their CD release! - Truly a night for the sickos loving doom, death and mayhem.
Not to mention that them good ol' Candlemass had the very same dungeon tremble in 2002 …!
Whilst Th’ Eternal Wedding Band is distributed by Non Stop Music of course, we are grateful to have the support of another mailorder / distro:

If you live in either of those countries or if you're into doom altogether, do something good for many people including yourself in ordering Th’ Eternal Wedding Band there. The pros and cons thereof may be evaluated by glancing at the reviews the album is getting; this includes the opinion of Germany's largest print magazine, Rock Hard.
mp3 by Pÿlon pop up here and there:
Update (13Oct2006):
Big talkin' - small fry: the album release concertwas cancelled.
What bothers us is that we didn't get to act as divas and call the show off but that the event was simply insufficiently organised.
We ARE sorry.
Short, simple and great:
Th' Eternal Wedding Band is available now and will be distributed by NonStopMusic.

Please order it from QLR's Swiss Metal Mailorder .
An album release party is not scheduled yet - but if any band out there would like us be their support act in October / November, … well, we might just celebrate together!
(this is a biggie!)
Pÿlon "in" Russia
We are honoured beyond belief that Igor Grachev dedicated an article in his new Encyclopedia of Gothic and Doom Metal to Pÿlon!
There's a chance of us getting a copy of this compendium into Switzerland ... to show our grandchildren.
Pÿlon live(s)!
After constantly brooding in our rehearsal room for 2 ½ years, we did it again: we brushed the dust off our instruments, rehearsed twice and gratefully followed Hellvetica’s invitation (along with Pentaslave) for the aptly-named „From The Depths“ show at Aarau’s very own WENK club.
Read the story & view the pictures of a great night out.
Th’ Eternal Wedding Band
We have laid the mastering process of TEWB, our forthcoming album, into the diligent hands of Emanuel Kneuss of Trinity & Thunder X vocal fame. We are “listening forward” to the results.
endmix.com
If you’re into legal downloads, endmix.com is the place for you! If you search for Pÿlon, you can get our split EP there.
MySpace
Along with many other QLR bands, we now also have a spot on MySpace … check out "Falling Into The Sun"!
The mastering is underway.
Matt is taking a few days off, Tinu is changing houses and Jan is submerged in science. That must be the blues kicking in shortly before the termination of a long and arduous project such as an album release.
In the meantime, Th'Eternal Wedding Band spins round and round and round in our CD players and we'll sit ourselves down to finishing the mastering in a cinch next week. And then, finally, we'll get to make noise together (and at the same time) once again.
Recording is finished!
In the next weeks, we'll throw out what's too much, we'll mix and master - all done at Shadowland Studio -, aiming for an August release of Th'Eternal Wedding Band.
May2006
Ah, the months fly. We’re flapping our wings a bit slower though, hanging in mid-air like an ugly, dishevelled, skinny bird. The drums are long-finished, and the guitars as well as the bass are just wrapping up, so we’re starting to mutilate lyrics, press a few keys and doodle a couple of notes on the old hollow stick. One number was dropped from the tracklist because it wasn’t quite up to p…, er, I mean “it will be the Japanese bonus track.” Yeah, right.
Oh, your question was why the recordings are taking so ridiculously long? – Well, that’s a serious question meriting a serious answer: we’re discovering more and more Cubase features and we only do so once a week for three hours. Worse than the living dead, innit?
23May: A small step for mankind, neat news for us: in today's cozy Tuesday night meeting, we completed the recording of lead and backing vox. What follows now is an interim mix before keys &c. are added. You may resume being excited now.
Apr2006: No, not a single new compilation to be presented this month!
But the drum tracks for another two songs are in the box, most guitar and bass tracks are laid down as well, so now we’re just waiting for the orchestra to come in.
Did I say ‘orchestra’? – Sorry, I meant that Sven will have to sit through us singing and trying to get instruments to work we don’t actually know how to play.
Sounds like fun though, doesn’t it?
Mar2006: Voilà - we give you …
| Days Of Sorrow, our brand-spankin’-new three-track CD single! At a mere ten minutes playing time, it’s as short as a regular doom song, but this one contains our current compilation tracks, Anaconda, 2046 and Checkmate 64, fine, swift stoner tracks … and somebody said something about Danzig, too. But all of this is only half the truth! | |
![]() | We are honoured to share this split CD with Painwork, three fine lads from Yverdon-les-bains who seem to like their share of the Sisters Of Mercy every once in a while. Four of their fine tunes open the CD and edge their way into your memory. – They got me, in any case, they did! |
| Did you think we were done already? – Wrong guess! | |
The meek sneak into the Media section whereas the bold hit the Swiss Metal Mailorder ! |
Feb2005: YESSS! We’re on the brand spankin’ new Heavy rendez vous Vol.II compilation! Just imagine: the first one came out in 1986 … this means it was a nasty LP while this comes as a pretty, shiny CD. ;-)
We’re grateful and proud to rage away with excellent groups from Hungary, Germany and Italy. Find more information on Heavy rendez vous here .
And for your blackening eyes, there are new and bizarre wallpapers in the media section.
Of course, the page header is new as well ... still four guys in the picture ....
Jan2006: Everything renewed? - Well, a wee overhaul certainly wouldn't hurt pylon-doom.net. - Let me see into the matter.
In any case, the new logo is hung up neatly, the links are weeded out a bit and perhaps the new year will see me posting a pic every now and then.
So, will 2006 be the best year ever and forever?
Difficult to say, but if nothing less, Pÿlon intend to clean out the closet this year, so you may expect all of the following:
So, what do you think - are in with us for another one?
--------------------------------------------------------------------- top
Pÿlon News
Dec2005: Worry not. The month being December and children’s eyes sparkling and shining like the foreheads of their elders subjected to shopping rampages are not reason enough to go all wobbly-reasoned. On the other hand, we hope to shake you by the ears early in the next year with some two or three presents, if you will, but more of that anon. This much: it won’t be the album yet.
It isn't HMN III either, but come to think of it, all too many neophytes out there would wish to be enlightened with and to metal - cases for whom one of these cures is recommended: being given either one of the two 2005 HEAVY METAL NATION compilations or a stint at the Swiss Metal Mailorder over at Quam Libet Records’.
Nov2005: The days just fly by, don’t they? They are grey, they are cold but they keep rushing as though for a reason. And we do what we like best: making music. Well, not quite as usual, however, as we have stopped rehearsing altogether for a short while. Tinu has long recorded the drum tracks for nine songs and also a good part of the guitars are ready to be altered digitally. So now it’s Jan’s turn to “get down” and lay down the bass lines so as to enable Sven to proceed with the first mixing process. Vocals are to follow suit, before keyboards and assorted other instruments may or may not be recorded.
Will everything be finished by the end of the year? Will the result be TEWB in its entirety? – No one can tell, we fear.
For the instant, “2046” is the latest available Pÿlon track (as an mp3 on HEAVY METAL NATION II), but another song is slanted for a compilation in the near future as well!
Oct2005: Yep, it makes me grin, too, reading our biography saying that TEWB might be out "by late 2005". You betcha that was penned down before the conception of HMN II was ever hatched!
On the other hand, the three of us have actually picked up on the song ideas Matt and Jan had preserved on mini disc nearly a year ago, whilst instrumental tracks to the partially-recorded songs are being added to the hard disc every now and then. Let's see how many six- or seven-minute tracks will fit onto the CD. And whether Jan will manage to find one or the other opportunity to use his seven stringie.
We are bemused to notice that Pÿlon's contribution to HMN II went unnoticed (or, perhaps rather, unmentionned for reasons of friendship). Nonetheless, it is always a pleasure to play "2046" to start off rehearsals, as it grants Matt to really loosen up and lose it for two minutes on end!
Jan burst with pride as he unfaithfully went on stage with Corpus Delicti at the HMN II release party at the Rock City in order to let it rip with their ingenious HMN II contribution, "The Immortal Knight". What a shame this moment were not recorded photographically - a member of Pÿlon actually sweating whilst playing! Such hasn't been observed ever since Tinu, panting, requested our dropping a wee li'l punk ditty of ours from our rehearsal set.
Sep2005: Tinu? And what he’s up to? – Yeah, that’s one funny question. He’s on holiday, of course! As it is, there are, however, times when this might come less handy than these days, as Matt and Jan had to give up on a few nights’ sleep anyway in preparation of HEAVY METAL NATION II.
Nonetheless, one or the other guitar and bass track actually made it onto the harddrive, and the instrumental “2046” could even be mastered and be hid somewhere within the depths of the compilation. Of course, we encourage you to have a go at solving the puzzle of what the title might stand for. Be this a hint: a very bad cinema movie which alledgedly had Jan actually flee during the intermission is of no relevance here.
What a let-down that the guestbook still isn’t quite up to par; otherwise we could have held a poll on whether or not a download of “2046” would be appreciated.
Aug2005: Time sure does fly when you’re having fun! We’re currently cuddled together in our cosy rehearsal room, recording drum and guitar tracks whenever we feel like it, toying around with an electric drum kit, looking into the options of tuning acoustic guitars down, and, above all, playing, playing, playing. And let it be known that it feels great – it’s amazing what a big sound we have as Matt runs loads of hall effects on his voice, Tinu’s vocal mike picks up the snare and the cymbals to echo them and Jan’s bass amp is broken and distorts even in a clean setting.
FITS, a song faintly alluded to as a slightly hidden track on Natural Songbirth, has evolved into ultimate doom in the orthodox sense, and other songs composed last autumn (but ignored ever since due to our HMN endeavors) will be reprised as well shortly. Let doom’s terror reign!
Jul2005: Sometimes the thoughts of putting Tinu on a leash cross one’s mind, but why should he not take off for a couple of weeks, leaving Matt and Jan with the first and second takes of seven drum tracks for them to gnaw on afterwards? But do they go in and record like maniacs? Not necessarily, as QLR is said to be currently taking up quite a bit of their time in return. (Mind you: time is long for doomsters.)
Still, it proved surprisingly interesting to lay down two new rockers shortly after their inception, as opposed to fiddling around with them and changing them throughout a few months before actually recording them. Rumour has it there might even be an instrumental amongst them for a little change.
Jun2005: The weather’s beautiful and what do we do? – Write songs of sorrow & doom, dragging and lagging behind all measures of time? - No. It may be a counter reaction to those months and months of rehearsing and “perfecting” songs (and finally getting the drum tracks down), but this was the third song in a row which clearly shows why we know there are two sides to ‘doom ROCK’. No need to worry: the ‘DOOM rock’ songs are getting darker, slower and more threatening as we go along & Matt urges ever-so-great guitar sounds from his amps, Tinu annihilates his snare heads and Jan is keeping it down by turning it up. Devastating fun!
May2005: Aye, Pÿlon now has the vastness of all elysian fields at its own disposal again! - And that includes a shop module and a guestbook (all of which you are kindly invited to make extensive use of, as you can guess), which also means we don't have to go around leaving messages for the QLR guys all the time! ;-)
Nonetheless, by and large, things are very much as they are wont to: our go at "Chinese Democracy" (TEWB) is still stewing slowly - perhaps ready to be served in autumn or winter 2005? After a couple of gaps in our rehearsal / recording schedule, we'll be opening our door once again this Thursday to greet some of our dear friends who feel like spending a musical evening with us.
All as training and doomy as it ought to be, then!
16Apr2005: Awesome news: - Pÿlon "in" Russia!
Apr2005: Just fine, just fine, thank you very much! Tinu, for example, has been laying low in some of the world's most beautiful spots for a few weeks. And there are no misgivings because he's the one who is actually done recording his drum tracks for two songs upon which Matt, Jan and Sven got to labour for a while. Ah, the luxury of being able of listening to the recording of "To My Brethren" and being able to now go back and twiddle the knobs a little bit more to the left and to the right in order to approach further the sound we want to get. And sneaky, secretive Sven finally came forward with masses of equipment nobody knew he had! That lad could actually set up and mix a show in a hall of a couple hundred just like that! But instead, and rather more usefully, he brought in some material which proved mightily useful to record with, and on.
Like once or twice every year, Jan is getting ready for a concert with a local brass band. (As a bit of cultural trivia: in our neck of the woods, the more traditional brass bands aren't big band style; rather, they are deduced from a military background, thus originally playing mainly marches. These days, however, they are quite open to many musical styles, and will play classical, Southern American, swing, rock'n'roll or pop literature as well, mixing them on some occasions, whilst concentrating on a single genre on the other.) Usually, Jan at such times comes along, mumbling something like "I didn't mean for it to happen", or he puts forward the argument that the change of styles and having to decipher sheet music every once in a while does him good, but rest assured that he does it most of all for one thing only: THE DOUBLE BASS he gets to play on a couple of tunes in live settings! Should footage of Mr Diva, all dressed up in his uniform and slugging away on the fat strings come into existence, you'll be the first to learn!
Talking of 'coming into existence' - there are two things growing in the pleasant lands of Pÿlonia: one lady's belly and one gent's joyful anxiety ...! But hush! I didn't tell you a thing about this yet, ok?
But before toddler pix be strewn all over the page (see the new band snaps in the gallery yet, by the way? - Lordy, it was cold that evening!), one of the band members submitted a load of images of his very own babies. But, as they are not for the weak at heart, they needed to be hid cleverly somewhere on this site, so ... oooon your marks - get set - go and FIND 'EM!
Mar2005: Time and again, we are looking for a six string slinger as Matt aims to increasingly focus on his vocals. Relieved, Tinu happily goes with this and plays even more fascinating stuff on the drums instead. But Jan simply cannot be bothered to bustle around with more than four strings - synaptic limitations, we reckon. So, all you axemen, come around and imprint your footsteps in the clay of time as the new album is being recorded. "Three bass tracks or just two? Five layered guitars or a single track?" - Such the questions going round and being tested to the marrow. As slow and mighty as the compositions, the conception and birth of TEWB proceed.
Unfortunately, James, a guitarist who had joined our ranks in February and who showed us that our tunes actually do make sense to instrumentalists even from without our range of styles, will be unable to remain with us and thus further the chances of Pÿlon getting up on stage in the near future. On the other hand, we rejoice at the possibility that one or the other TEWB song may end up featuring another fantastic guest solo guitarist!
Feb2005: A problem: If you expect 200 visitors during a time-span of ten days, how many are to be expected in thirty days? ... Wrong: nigh on 2, 000! There have been days with up to 130 visitors, and yes, the nederlandstaalige are one of the four main groups of visitors! Thanks a lot for coming around - why not leave us a little something to decipher in our guestbook! It would be sheer bliss if you guys wanted to import a couple dozen copies of HEAVY METAL NATION and show your friends what's going down between the Alps and the Jura! In any case, the interest in our project definitely shows that there is something larger happening in and with the Swiss underground scene.
Of course, we are very grateful for all of the kind comments we get for "To My Brethren", our contribution to the compilation, and - believe it, or not - for the repeated question, whether Pÿlon would go live again in the near future. Well, better not rush things yet, right, lads & lasses?
More time going into rehearsals rather than new compositions now, Matt and Jan find the time to delve up to their ears into new more or less fancy little projects completing the HMN experience. Getting reviews from medazzarock.com, a feature in the new "RockStar Magazine", and air-time on Radio Bern is splendid, but there might be something else in the bag yet. - And do send us bags full of clippings on HEAVY METAL NATION, should you find them; source and/or time of transmission included. A free CD to that good person to send us most or the strangest bits and pieces!
Extra! Extra!
19Jan2005: Only today we learned that no less than 4, 800 visitors have honoured with their active interest: 182, 129 hits are registered here at quamlibetrecords.ch! In no less than ten days, we are to greet our 5, 000th visitor, and would you believe it - he may be Dutch! For, in fact, the largest group of non-Swiss users are pancake-eating, tulip-sniffing, and hard-riffing rockers from the beautiful plains of the Netherlands!
But let us celebrate a little in advance: for you meisjes and boeben from all over, "To My Brethren ", our contribution to the compilation, is now available as an MP3 download: enjoy!
We of Pÿlon and Quam Libet Records thank you cordially for your support and raise our glasses to the near and farther future!
All yours - Matt, Tinu, Jan, Peter & Sven
Jan2005: "No news is good news." - Well, perhaps, but if even the year is a new one, old news is simply boring.
And a stand-still again is only what is perceptible on the outside, as far as never-gigging Pÿlon is concerned. Granted, Matt and Jan have hardly had any full night's sleep for the last few weeks (which, in return, gave Tinu some time to plan his upcoming holiday trip), but at least we've twiddled knobs in some down-time, and turned "To My Brethren" into the hungry lion's roar it is supposed to be, thus saving the "philharmonic version" for our very own ShadowSongs III. It's still a pain in the mind to compare what one hopes to be the definite edit of a song on various stereo sets: it never, ever, ever sounds right on all of them.
- In any case, we've got our one-in-a-million Svengineer: this man can work with a roomful of opinions and "just try this for a second"s and pointing fingers smearing his computer screen ... but where others would put on the "then do it yourselves" record, he shows us all with a flick of the wrist. Amazing guy doing an amazing job!
And even the last tears will be dried once HEAVY METAL NATION, the aptly named and illustrated Quam Libet Sampler will be released! It is an honour and a pleasure to be on here with 17 other phantastic groups, kicking and screaming for 76 minutes straight as the brothers in metal we are! Not one ballad, not one low point, but heaps of 'sure I'll show you mine!' attitudes and idiosyncrasies that have the listener bang his head, shake it in disbelief every once in a while, grin, and bang on like a rabbit on uppers! - Git it here!
--------------------------------------------------------------------- top
Dec2004: Swear! Curse! Talk disapprovingly about the sales clerk's mother. The aim is clear: since it IS possible that a customer may have picked two defective appliances in a row he will have it exchanged. Well, the horrors of the past month are overcome and two of the new songs serve as rough materials for testing our studio set-up: "To My Brethren", sheer heavy blues-goth doom in every single fibre, and "Anaconda" (stoner's delight) are coming together, layer by layer, track by track. Tinu pounds away, Matt intonates his lowest notes and Jan doesn't. Even Baldi came around for one or three dirty, dirty r'n'r solos back-feeding through the amps! Coins are being tossed over who is to sing, and soon enough we'll be in the position to get into fist fights over the mixing! Ah, the benefits of democracy!
Nov2004: Oh, the cruel fate! Not only have numberless Francs deserted us, but even yon device of un-intelligible windings and a mind of its own weighs heavily upon our lithe spirits! Call it 'our brand new studio', call it 'a computer', call it 'a lump of Satan's very own stool' ... it's all the same. But why would the Lord of all Darkness add white noise to every single take recorded whilst all we do is play his music? Bully us into contemplations on the issue of diabolicy, our sorrows do.
Notwithstanding, more than a mere silver lining decorates our horizon! Two songs have emerged, apparently forged for our frolicking on skins and strings. Whilst one has Jan go down on his knees and thank all divinities for inducing Matt to compose such a tune of splendour and doom, Tinu had somehow managed to convince Matt and Jan that he had to take two weeks off and hang out on a sunny beach in order to write a menacing lyric for quite punchy a little ditty.
Oct2004: "Do they still breathe?" has turned into a recurring question in the pÿlonic surroundings. - It may be an age thing, but the guys are keeping it down somewhat, but that's only an outward thing: whilst Tinu sticks to good, honest (paid) work, Matt is all over the creation of CD covers and into buying handy studio equipment, Jan spends straight days on the internet (what does he need his new basses for, then, anyway?), and Lorenz wanders the earth. - Even animals do things such as seemingly uncoordinated movings-about for a stringent reason, but the medal of honour here goes out to him who de-codes the schemes of these guys!
Sep2004: Little seems to be happening in the good land Pÿlonia, but looks are deceiving: something is brewing and stirring under ground! About two thirds of the forthcoming album are written and being polished these days. Sounds are expanding in all directions and our little threesome is up to their necks in instruments and memo notes concerning running orders and cues .... And a singer has knocked on our door and lives to tell the tale!
Aug2004: We regret to announce that Baldi has left Pÿlon due to his feeling that he could no longer dedicate the necessary time to his musical pastime. For the last one-and-a-half years, his bluesy style of guitar playing had so pin-pointedly complemented Matt's guitar lines. There have been rumours, however, that his team of Mesa-Boogie and SG may be hitched up again for the next album ... keep your ears open!
Nonetheless, the rock rolls on and the forthcoming album is written about halfways - in between weddings, holiday travels, and military service duties of all sorts. Currently, we are equally looking for additional, permanent band members, be they singers, guitarists or keyboard players ... or all in one!
Jul2004: The page is finally up and Natural Songbirth has been released - what beauties they both are! Feel free to browse around our beautiful PiXelstructure pages and catch an earful of our hard rocking tunes on the MP3 page !
